Police Scanners in the News 1

Welcome to the first installment of "Police Scanners in the News". Under this category is were I will post news articles I find involving police scanners. Let's get started:

The following article exposes a trend that is occuring in cities all across America:
And it's morons like these that give law-abiding citizens like us a bad name...:
  • Anarchist Arrested After Tweeting Out the Fuzz to Protesters
Man found using a police scanner and Twitter to help numerous protesters avoid police during the Group of 20 summit and has now been charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, criminal use of a communication facility, and possession of instruments of crime.
  • Suspect Faces Additional Charges
A 20-year-old man already accused of breaking into an Austin home Sept. 30 while a family of six was sleeping now is facing more felony cases for alleged burglaries about the same time. According to the new complaints, police went to the home of Hanson's girlfriend after arresting Hanson. She told police that Hanson used the police scanner when he went out.
...and it's moronic actions like the above that give rise to law enforcement taking actions like this:
  • Sheriff Requests Ordinance to Outlaw Mobile Scanners
Calling Linn County "scanner land" and explaining to the commissioners that it is becoming increasingly difficult to make surprise busts, Sheriff Barry Walker asked the commissioners to approve an ordinance to outlaw mobile scanners in vehicles.
Well, that's for this post - enjoy. Please subscribe to my blog and let me know what you think about this post. Till next time...stay safe and happy scanning!
